Job Description:

A dynamic meetings industry professional with extensive knowledge of all regional hotels and meeting space. Manages the entire sales
and services process on behalf of internal market sales and lead generations, from client prospecting through bidding and hosting.
Builds long-lasting, meaningful relationships with Meetings + Conference clients through industry conventions, sales calls, client
hosting, and other methods. Evaluates potential ROI of all pieces of business, and provides true Go Great hospitality throughout the
entire sales and service process.

 

Requirements:

MUST DO

Executes internal market sales and lead generation vision as outlined
in Go Great Business Plan
Manages annual Meetings + Conferences
budget effectively and responsibly
Finds new business development opportunities through association memberships and other platforms
Builds meaningful relationships with local, state, national, and international meeting planners
Works with Creative to develop all Meetings + Conference marketing materials
Uses extensive knowledge of regional tourism product to elevate Go Great Lakes Bay as an ideal meetings destination
Coordinates and hosts all site visits and familiarization tours on behalf of internal market sales and lead generation
Uses Simpleview CRM Meetings Group to manage all accounts, contacts, and leads, using support of Technology
Maintains records of all regional meeting facilities and their amenities, using Simpleview CRM
Partner Group and support of Technology
Regularly reports to CEO regarding progress toward Meetings + Conference sales goals, using Simpleview CRM Meetings Dashboard
Creates and presents innovative new ideas for Sales department and entire DMMO
Develops collaborative opportunities between/with Regional Partners
All other duties as assigned

MUST BE

A natural salesperson with a warm, welcoming personality, spirit of hospitality, and the ability to negotiate when necessary
Actively involved in the meetings industry, participating regularly in association events
Able to work with Go Great Partners and meeting planners to handle confidential bid and business information professionally
Physically able to set up displays and carry promotional materials/equipment as required

MUST HAVE

4-year degree from an academic institution (Hospitality, Sales, or Business major preferred) or equivalent experience
Industry certification (CMP, CTP) preferred 5+ years experience in hospitality, business, or sales industry
Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
Strong knowledge of Simpleview CRM (and willingness to learn additional skills through webinars, help guides, and on-site training with Technology)
Willingness to work extensive weekends and evenings and be accessible to clients outside of regular business hours
