Welcome to Harbor Springs’ historical Colonial Inn, a Historic Hotels of
America hotel. Our newly restored rooms blend historic character
with modern amenities. Each space embodies the essence of northern Michigan, featuring artwork by Tricia Verhelle Brown, whose playful pieces were deeply inspired by Lilly Pulitzer, capturing the spirit of lake life. From in-room fireplaces to the warm glow of our historic Main Inn, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a memorable stay.
For over 130 years, the Colonial Inn has stood as a cherished retreat in Northern Michigan, welcoming generations of visitors including some of America’s most notable families, such as the Fords, Gambles, Hemingways, Upjohns, and Wrigleys. The Colonial Inn traces its roots back to 1891, when it operated under the name Eaton House before renaming it to Colonial Hall.
