Treasures from the past come to life at this 18th-century fort and fur trading village. Reconstructed based on historic maps and more than 50 years of archaeological excavations that continue today, Colonial Michilimackinac offers a one-of-a-kind experience from cannon and musket firings to hearth cooking and crafts.

Colonial Michilimackinac, a reconstructed French fur trade village and palisaded fort, offers an interesting combination of exhibits/period settings, reenactments, beautiful views of the Straits of Mackinac and America's longest ongoing archeological dig. Enjoy yummy food services available at the Voyageur Cafe and don't miss the shopping opportunities or orientation video in the Michilimackinac Visitor's Center.

Services:
Colonial Michilimackinac, a reconstructed French fur trade village and palisaded fort, offers an interesting combination of exhibits/period settings, reenactments, beautiful views of the Straits of Mackinac and America's longest ongoing archeological dig. Coming Together a Michilimackinac, a 13-minute audiovisual program, is presented in the Visitor’s Center theater. Attack! at Michilimackinac explores the 1763 capture of the fort during Pontiac’s Uprising. It plays in a theater within the fort. 2015 marks the tri-centennial of Colonial Michilimackinac, with special programs and events through the year.

The Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor’s Center houses a Museum Store featuring a wide variety of unique gifts, mementos, apparel and publications.

Daily: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Early May through Mid October)
