Description
Located mid-way between Chicago and Detroit on a 90- acre historic campus with over 20 gallery buildings is the world-famous Gilmore Car Museum. Here visitors shoot the breeze in an old-fashioned gas station. Children stand inches from a 1930 Rolls Royce that’s from a Disney movie.  Grandparents share stories about a ’57 Chevy, as their smiles are reflected in the car’s chrome.  Stroll the campus. Explore our re-created dealership row. Walk right up to an amazing collection of 400 vintage automobiles, motorcycles and memories.  It’s North America’s largest Car Museum.

Exhibits range from the early cars of the 1890s, to the fabulous Duesenbergs, Classics of the '40s, '50s and '60s, automobiles built in the "Other Motor City - Kalamazoo", to the vintage Franklin dealership and the largest gallery ever dedicated to the Model A Ford. Other featured exhibits include The Green Book, Dust Bowl & Great Migration vehicles of the '20s and '30s, the elusive 1948 Tucker, vintage Pedal Cars, Disney's "Gnome-Mobile," .  Eat lunch in our authentic 1941 Blue Moon Diner or Heritage Café. Check out the authentic re-creation of a 1930s Shell Gas Station, where gas is always 18 cents a gallon. Host an event in our Heritage Ballroom, Heritage Theater or  Automotive Heritage Research Library.

The Gilmore Car Museum is also home to numerous partner museums, including the Classic Car Club of America, the Pierce-Arrow Museum, the Franklin Automobile Museum, the Museum of the Horseless Carriage, the Model A Ford Museum, the Cadillac-LaSalle Museum, and the Lincoln Motor Car Museum.
